This is NOT Good Customer Service

I got a new credit card in the mail with a little sticker on it with activation instructions, It said this:

"To activate and use this card call 1-800-XXX-XXXX from your home phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week"

Easy right? So I finally get home from work around 10pm, open my mail and dial the number up to activate it, only to hear....

"Thank you for calling XXXXX, our hours of operation are from 9am-9pm Eastern Standard Time. Please call back during our normal business hours"

Um...how is that being open 24 hours a day????

Sigh.

I hate credit card companies but I do love my plastic

Credit card companies are THE WORST!!! Most of the time when I get a "real" voice on the other line, I can't understand a word they're saying anyway.

Hope you get it figured out soon, during "regular" business hours!!
