I called

The position the recruiter was calling about wasn't the one I thought and was just another legal admin asst position. I asked about the event position on the site, but she said it was too senior for me, even though I pointed out I had the experience listed in the qualifications. She said it wasn't recent enough (it was only 3 years ago) and I didn't want to argue with her. It was good conversation overall though and I gave her a clear picture of what I was looking for and she said she would keep my resume on file and keep and eye out.

I give you a lot of credit for calling... I have such a fear of rejection that the phone can become my enemy.

You're right - live and learn. Keep on truckin' and you'll find what you're looking for!

I say you contact the company directly and submit your resume for the other job. Screw what the recruiter from an outside firm had to say!! If you have the skills, they'll be interested.
